FPA150 (WEEK 6) - FERTILIZER APPLICATION AND WATERING

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone!!! Welcome again to my blog💜. Salam UITM dihatiku! My name is Nur 'Ain Syafiqah Binti Mohamad Hirani. I am from Selangor. I studied in Diploma In Planting Industry Management (DPIM) at UiTM Melaka Campus Jasin. By the way, this is a blog about FPA150 Fieldwork II that all DPIM's student will learn during semester 2. Hope that everyone will get useful information from my blog and hope you enjoy it !!!

Every Friday in semester 2, all students part 1 until part 3 from Faculty Of Plantation And Agrotechnology need to get together in the field. In this blog, I want to show our time and activity that we have followed :

6:00 a.m. - 6 .30 a.m.
  • Subuh prayers
  • Class representative take attendance for our class B



6:30 a.m. - 7.14 a.m.
  • Line up according to their respective classes
  • Morning exercise
  • Planter's supervisor give an information about major crop in Malaysia
7:14 a.m. - 8.15 a.m.
  • Moved to Agrotech 
  • Read Al-Kahfi(The first 10 sentences and last 10 sentences), Dua Dhuha, Doa Qunut Nazilah and Dua Rabithah(Recitation)
  • Sing the National Anthem, next is Wawasan Setia Warga UiTM and Planters Song followed by prayer.  
  • Planter's talk that delivered by a student representative of part 1 about mulching.
  • Doctor Maizatul give a briefing about the activities we are going to do. The activities is about Fertilization. 
  •  About fertilizer : 
          1) Why we have to put fertilizer?
               - To get nutrient, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
          2) Ways of using fertilizer
               - Broadcasting
               - Top grass
               - Side dressing application (put fertilizer around the plant)
               - Band
               - Folia application
               - Fertigation  
               - Organic (for example : chicken dung) 
               - Fertilizer (direct, compound, complete) 
          3) Method of watering plant : 
               - hand watering 
               - sprinkler 
               - drip system 




8:15 a.m. - 9.30 a.m.
  • My class moved to herbal plot
Rajah 1 : 
Baja NPK 15:15:15
900 gram untuk 3 pokok


Rajah 2 : 
Sprinkle fertilizer on the plant 


9:30 a.m. - 10.15 a.m.
  • Our group class are going to Plot Angkat which is Lime Plot to do circle weeding.
  • Class dismissed.



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. Major crop in Malaysia :
    a) oil palm - Elaeis guineensis
    b) rubber - Hevea brasiliensis 
    c) coco - Theobroma cacao
    d) paddy - Oryza sativa
